Innisfail is a town located in the far north of the state of Queensland, Australia (17°33′S 146°05′E).

Innisfail is approximately 1,631 kilometres (1,013 miles) north of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, and approximately 90 kilometres south of Cairns. It is the major town of the Johnstone Shire. It is located near large tracts of old-growth tropical rainforest. Innisfail's town centre is situated at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers, approximately 5km from the coast. Queensland's highest mountain, Mount Bartle Frere, part of Australia's Great Dividing Range, is 15 kilometres to the north. The population of Innisfail is about 8,000.
